Instapage Landing Page Builder: A Overview Data Flow Vs Workflow
Before we can get to the bottom, it is important that you understand what Instapage actually is as a platform. Instapage is a landing-page builder that helps you create attractive, eye-catching and high-quality landing pages. However, it’s not just any average landing page editor. Instapage is backed by a number of powerful tools that make it simple to quickly create high-converting landing page templates.
With its drag-and-drop interface, Instapage lets you customize your pages without any semblance of coding knowledge. It also allows you to explore a wide range of ready-made templates for various industries or niches to get started immediately. With its ability to customize and personalize dynamically, your pages will stand out among the rest with an extensive library that includes images, videos and building blocks.
Instapage offers advanced analytics tools that allow you to monitor how each page performs, in keeping with its promise of delivering outstanding conversion rates and promising leads through your landing pages. It also allows you to connect to leading reporting, marketing and testing platforms to make the most out of your landing pages. This makes it possible to quickly reach your goals. Instapage is a popular online landing page builder because of these features and many more.
Using Instapage to Create a Landing Page
A landing page is essential for any business, especially one that is online-focused. Not only does it present how your business will appear to the general public, but it also serves as an ever-effective way of building a strong, dedicated consumer base.
While the idea of building a landing page sounds great, it does, however, come at a cost – and an expensive one, too. The overall cost of creating a landing page can depend on several factors, from the complexity of the design to the resources needed to build and maintain it. However, it is more expensive to create and maintain a landing page that has many features. If you don’t have the time or skills to make one, it’s better to hire a professional agency or designer to do it. You could end up spending several hundred to several thousand more on this route than you have budgeted.
So, if you want to create high-quality, high-converting landing pages – the same ones that any established web designer can do, yet need more money to splurge on one, Instapage could be your ideal solution. It offers a wide array of features and customization options, making it simple to design a page that looks great and functions perfectly.

These are only a few of the many features you can expect from Instapage. The rest will be covered in the article. But for now, I thought it would be helpful to give you a first-hand look at how it feels to use Instapage’s landing page builder.
Sign up now to create an account. You won’t be able to fully experience Instapage until you sign up. Once you log in, your dashboard will appear. This is where you can see a complete overview of the progress you are making. You won’t see much on your dashboard because this is your first attempt. It’s okay, you’ll learn how to create your own landing page. Let’s get started!
From scratch, you can build a landing page
To create a landing page, simply click on “Landing Pages” on the left-side menu from your dashboard, then “Create Page.” Once you hit the button, you’ll instantly be greeted by a vast collection of around 200 landing page templates, each of which you can use and customize however you like for whatever you want to promote.
You’ll also be given the option to start with a blank page without any template or design (Blank Page), but that’s up to you if you think you have experience in building websites. We will build a landing page from scratch using templates that are already in use, as many people are reading this tutorial.
You have many options to choose from depending on the purpose of your campaign. Select the Use case filter to see a list of available templates. You may find a template that’s designed to convince users to download your app (App download), one geared toward signing people up for an upcoming event (Event registration), or one that’s made to simply thank them for purchasing your product/service (Thank you). Instapage has a template for every use case.
Let’s suppose we are creating a landing page for launching a product. What are you going to do in this situation? You can start by selecting “Product Launch” from the filter. Next, choose one of the themes that will appear in the search results. As you pick the landing page design that you think looks good for what you’re aiming to promote, you’ll be welcomed by a quick page preview. This is to give you a taste of your end product once it’s published to the public online.
Then, it’s up to you whether you’re going to use it or not. If, for some reason, you don’t vibe with the layout, and you can always go back and skim through until you find the perfect fit. If you love it, you can click “Use that layout.” After you have chosen the landing page design you will need to give it a name to help keep things organized.
Customizing Your Landing Page
With your chosen page layout now ready to go, the next step is to customize it according to your liking. You’ll be immediately redirected to the Instapage page builder, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites coming from the platform (an opinion that, surprisingly, everyone agrees!). In this stage, you have the opportunity to make your landing page more visually appealing and engaging. The best part of it all is that you don’t need to do any of the work since Instapage does it for you.
Instapage Builder allows you to drag and drop elements anywhere on the page. This is in contrast to WordPress, which may allow you to try pulling any element but it will be locked in a row or column and cannot move at all. It works in a similar way to the Photoshop interface. You won’t see any elements you drag get locked, so you can move your mouse around and drag-and drop as you please.
While the ability to drag and drop may feel more Photoshop-like, the rest of the Builder’s interface should be in some ways familiar, especially to those who’ve used the WordPress editor in the past. You’ll find a full set of elements, widgets, and forms within your reach, and once you click on any of them, you can add as many tweaks as possible to make your landing page more presentable.
Adding Elements and Making Modifications
You can add and rearrange visual elements to your Instapage Builder experience. Interactive features such as surveys and text boxes can be added to your Instapage Builder account to capture user data while keeping them interested. To enhance the appearance of your webpage, you can use colors, fonts, and other design elements. Data Flow Vs Workflow
In Instapage terms, a set of elements grouped is called a block. You can add elements and make a few notable adjustments to a block. If you want, you can copy, duplicate, and even delete the block. This is just how to create a block. If you don’t have enough time or confidence in your page-building skills you can always use the Instapage Builder’s block templates.
Every time you build a landing page, you’ll notice that the preview appears designed for desktop use. If you want to create a mobile-friendly version of your page here in Instapage, you won’t have to worry about starting again from scratch. Every template is optimized for mobile use. You can hide certain elements, or entire blocks, just like you could with the desktop version. This is useful for those who visit your landing page via their smartphones.
With this life-saving feature, you won’t need to go too far to the point where you’ll have two completely different page versions. This is how you can make your landing page attractive and effective for marketing your products or service.
Publishing Your Landing Page
This is the most important part. Now you need to publish your page to make it available to your audience. A landing page is essential to promoting a product or service. This will make sure that your landing page is visible to as many people as possible, and increase traffic to your website. Data Flow Vs Workflow
Are you satisfied with the layout and design? You can integrate Instapage with any of the following options:
- Custom domain – you’ll need to connect it to your Instapage account first before you get it published to your domain – the process will be quite complex, but Instapage will lead you through it with instruction guides along the way
- WordPress – You can publish your page instantly thanks to its native WordPress integration
- Drupal – if you work for a large-scale company that has Drupal, you can publish your Instapage-made page instantly when you connect it using the Drupal plug-in.
- Facebook – this option is useful if you expect most of your visitors to find your page via Facebook and you want to improve the user experience there
- Demo page – this is a quick and easy option for publishing your landing page if you don’t own a website domain; instead, you’ll be provided a subdomain from Instapage itself.
You can also download your page to be edited and modified for future use, or export it to co-workers and collaborators. You can save your page progress and come back anytime if you aren’t ready to publish it.

Instapage’s Other Notable Features
Instablocks & Global Blocks
You can add elements to create blocks within pages, but you also have the benefit of being able save it and reuse it whenever you need to make another page. To further cut the time spent on building landing pages in half, you can save the blocks you made yourself as Instablocks, which you can implement when you create other pages in future projects. To do this, simply right-click on the block you want to use again, then click “Save to My Blocks.” Data Flow Vs Workflow
Meanwhile, Global Blocks work similarly to Instablocks – the only difference between the two is that the design and layout of the former are specific to one page. The Global Blocks look consistent across all pages. This means if you edit a Global Block on one page, all the changes will be reflected on the same block built into other pages. This can be very useful if you have a section on your website that you wish to be consistent across pages, such as a header, footer or footer. You can disable this feature if you wish.
Split Testing to Optimize Your Landing Pages
Optimizing your webpage with A/B/n testing can be a great way to improve it. Before you publish your page, ensure that it is appealing to the public. With the optimization experiments feature built into the Instapage Builder, you can easily determine which elements or blocks of the landing page should stay as is since most users are particularly drawn to it, as well as which parts need to be changed.
Split-testing multiple versions of a landing pages is possible with Instapage. Click on the “Traffic Split” button in the Builder to view the options. This allows you to compare and contrast different versions of the page to determine which one performs best. You can create multiple versions of your page and decide the percentage of traffic to be sent to each variation. Instapage will then show you detailed analytics to help you determine which version is performing best. You can use the winning page as your final landing page layout or continue testing it with different variants to optimize it, ensuring that your page delivers the best possible visitor experience and improves conversion rates. Real-Time Collaboration Tools
One of the many nice aspects of Instapage is that you can conveniently collaborate with other people to create a more immersive experience. With the platform’s live collaboration, working in groups or as a team will be possible. As you turn on Comment mode, you and your teammates can leave comments on different parts of the page by simply clicking on any of the elements or blocks. This feature is helpful if you have any suggestions or requests for changes to the layout and design.
Instapage has also made it possible for you to share your page, even if it’s in progress, with your teammates through a private URL that you can copy and share in their group chat. You can invite them all with their email addresses. Not only can your page be accessed by fellow Instapage users – those who don’t have one can also take a look at what you’re working on.
Instapage AdMap for Increased Conversions
If you want to ensure the landing page for your product or service is sent to the right audience, the AdMap tool can help you achieve your desired results. The AdMap tool is designed to increase conversions and maximize return on investment. It allows you to create and track ads across multiple platforms, including Google search results.
AdMap lets you customize your ads according to your audience’s preferences and behavior. It can be used to optimize the customer’s journey by identifying and removing the pain points and roadblocks to conversion. It can also help users to see how changes to an ad or page affect the overall performance of their campaign. Instapage AdMap offers a simple interface and detailed analytics reports that will help anyone increase their conversion rate and ROI. You must take note, though, that you must have a Google Ads account to access this feature. Data Flow Vs Workflow
Integration with Google Ads
Google Ads is a great tool for business and digital marketing. You can connect your landing page to your Google Ads account to increase your reach to a wider audience. You can easily track the progress of your campaign, how much you spent, and how popular your pages were for thousands of online users around the world by just a few clicks – all from your Instapage dashboard.
Heatmap Analytics Tool
As a means to better understand customer behavior on your page, Instapage’s native heatmap analytics feature lets you take an in-depth, real-time look at how your users interact with certain parts of your landing page, offering valuable insights into how customers use a website. This tool allows businesses to identify hotspots in their websites, such as pages visited the most or buttons clicked most frequently.
Heatmaps can also be used to identify usability issues that customers might have, which allows businesses to quickly and effectively make improvements. This is useful for tracking visitor journeys across multiple pages or devices. It provides valuable information about customers’ interactions with websites and content, which can help businesses grow and succeed. Data Flow Vs Workflow

Analytics in Instapage
Instapage excels as both a landing-page creator and a lead generation tool. Its analytics section perfectly reflects this. As one of the platform’s top-selling assets, real-time analytics gives you a full scope of how well your page is performing online, thanks to its detailed visuals and accurate numbers. It allows you to track and analyze the performance of their landing pages. The feature provides detailed information on metrics such as page views, unique visitors, bounce rates, and more. This data can be used to improve and optimize landing pages, and in turn, improve the business’ overall standing.
Instapage’s analytics tools include the Conversion Goals tool, which is built into the page builder. This allows you to create specific goals for your page and track them. Additionally, you can integrate with third-party analytics platforms to gain insights into user behavior and help boost the optimization of your page, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and more. Instapage Analytics allows users to analyze how landing pages perform and make data-driven choices about how to improve them.
