Instapage is a popular landing page software that allows users to create and optimize landing pages for their websites. In this article, I’d like to share with you my comprehensive review of Instapage to determine if it is the best landing page builder on the market.
Instapage has been a great tool for me to create high-converting pages for both my business and others. Since I got the opportunity and enough money to move from a different page builder to here, I have grown to appreciate how much Instapage can offer. While there are many benefits I have enjoyed, there is always a downside.
With that in mind, I will be reviewing the features of Instapage and also discussing the pricing plans available to the platform as well as how to use it. By the end of this review, you’ll have a clearer picture of whether or not Instapage is the right choice for your business.

Instapage Landing Page Builder: An Overview Instapage Customer Success Manager
Before we get to the bottom of all of this, you must know first-hand what Instapage really is as a platform. Instapage is a landing page builder designed to help you generate attractive, eye-catching, and overall high-quality landing pages. It’s more than a landing page editor. Since a showcase of very powerful tools backs it, Instapage makes it easy to create high-converting landing pages quickly and efficiently.
With its drag-and-drop interface, Instapage lets you customize your pages without any semblance of coding knowledge. You can also explore ready-made templates that are suitable for different industries and niches. With its ability to customize and personalize dynamically, your pages will stand out among the rest with an extensive library that includes images, videos and building blocks.
Keeping up with the promise to deliver outstanding conversion rates and promising leads to your landing pages, Instapage provides advanced analytics tools to measure how well each page is performing. It also allows you to connect to leading reporting, marketing and testing platforms to make the most out of your landing pages. This makes it possible to quickly reach your goals. Because of all these and more included in this online software, there’s no doubt that Instapage has become one of the most popular landing page builders on the market today.
Instapage is a tool to create a landing page
If you’re running a business for the first time, especially one that’s online-centric, you need to realize just how important a landing page is. It not only shows how your business will look to the public but also provides a way for you to build a loyal customer base.
While the idea of building a landing page sounds great, it does, however, come at a cost – and an expensive one, too. The overall cost of creating a landing page can depend on several factors, from the complexity of the design to the resources needed to build and maintain it. However, it is more expensive to create and maintain a landing page that has many features. If you don’t have the time or skills to make one, it’s better to hire a professional agency or designer to do it. You could end up spending several hundred to several thousand more on this route than you have budgeted.
So, if you want to create high-quality, high-converting landing pages – the same ones that any established web designer can do, yet need more money to splurge on one, Instapage could be your ideal solution. It offers a wide array of features and customization options, making it simple to design a page that looks great and functions perfectly.
Why Use Instapage?
Instapage is a powerful tool to create engaging landing pages that convert potential customers into customers. Apart from its page-building customization tools, here are some of the go-to reasons why this platform is worth the try for anyone who manages any business, big or small.
You don’t need to know how to make complicated landing pages
Instapage is an easy-to-use platform that allows users to quickly and easily create stunning pages without needing help from outside resources. You don’t need to be a web design expert just to build a fully-functioning page because all of its tools are ready for that purpose.
Made to create Landing Pages and landing pages only
Unlike other page builders, particularly the built-in WordPress page builder, Instapage comes with templates that are exclusively designed in the style of a landing page. You have many options, so you can get everything.
More Analytics-focused Page-building
With Instapage, you can optimize your landing page for conversions by testing different variations and tracking results. You can also maximize your reach with powerful analytics and optimization tools to track your page’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
Build Multiple Landing Pages with One Account
If you happen to manage multiple websites, your single Instapage account is enough to create and host multiple landing pages for each site. This is a significant advantage over other website builders that allow you to manage one account per base plan.
Instapage Features: An in-depth review of its templates, editing, and more
As you sign in to Instapage for the first time, you’ll notice that it’s already packed with a hearty handful of features and tools needed to build beautiful landing pages. These are just a few of the many offerings offered by Instapage.
- A user-friendly page builder with a familiar drag-and-drop functionality
- The option to create mobile-friendly versions of landing pages
- Templates that can be customized to your exact specifications
- Blocks, forms, and other elements that can be easily resized and modified to fit your needs.
- Unlimited access to high-quality stock images
- Export to WordPress or your custom domain for easy publishing and export
- Integrations with popular digital marketing and email marketing tools such as MailChimp
These are only a few of the many features you can expect from Instapage. I’ll show you the rest later on in the article, but for now, since we have a general idea of what it is, it would be nice if I take you through a hands-on look at what it’s like to use this landing page builder for the first time.
Sign up now to create an account. Just like every other landing page builder, you won’t fully get the Instapage experience until you register your account. As soon as you log in, you’ll first notice your dashboard, where you’ll find a full overview of how much progress you’ll be making. Since this is your first time, you won’t be able to see a lot on your dashboard. It’s okay, you’ll learn how to create your own landing page. Let’s get started!
Building a Landing Page from Scratch
Click on “Landing pages” in the left-side menu of your dashboard and then click “Create Page”. Once you hit the button, you’ll instantly be greeted by a vast collection of around 200 landing page templates, each of which you can use and customize however you like for whatever you want to promote.
You’ll also be given the option to start with a blank page without any template or design (Blank Page), but that’s up to you if you think you have experience in building websites. We will build a landing page from scratch using templates that are already in use, as many people are reading this tutorial.
There are a lot of template options that you can choose from based on your planned campaign by selecting the use case filter. You may find a template that’s designed to convince users to download your app (App download), one geared toward signing people up for an upcoming event (Event registration), or one that’s made to simply thank them for purchasing your product/service (Thank you). No matter the use case, Instapage has a template all set for you to use.
Let’s suppose we are creating a landing page for launching a product. What are you going to do in this situation? You can start by selecting “Product Launch” from the filter. Next, choose one of the themes that will appear in the search results. A page preview will be displayed to you as you select the landing page design you feel best fits your product. This preview will give you an idea of the final product when it is made available to the public.
It’s up to the user to decide if they will use it. If, for some reason, you don’t vibe with the layout, and you can always go back and skim through until you find the perfect fit. Otherwise, if you like it, then you can click “Use this layout.” Once you’ve chosen your landing page design, you’ll need to come up with a name as a way to keep things in order.
Customizing Your Landing Page
Now that you have your page layout, it is time to personalize it to your liking. You’ll be immediately redirected to the Instapage page builder, which happens to be one of my all-time favorites coming from the platform (an opinion that, surprisingly, everyone agrees!). In this stage, you have the opportunity to make your landing page more visually appealing and engaging. The best part of it all is that you don’t need to do any of the work since Instapage does it for you.
Instapage Builder allows you to drag and drop elements anywhere on the page. This is in contrast to WordPress, which may allow you to try pulling any element but it will be locked in a row or column and cannot move at all. It works in a similar way to the Photoshop interface. You won’t see any elements you drag get locked, so you can move your mouse around and drag-and drop as you please.
Although drag-and-drop may seem more Photoshop-like than the rest of Builder’s interface, it should still feel familiar to anyone who has used the WordPress editor before. There are many elements, widgets and forms available to you. Once you click on one of them, you can make any changes you want to your landing page.
Adding Elements and Making Modifications
The Instapage Builder experience, of course, wouldn’t be complete without the ability to add and rearrange a wide array of visual elements such as images, videos, and graphics, as well as headlines, text boxes, buttons, shapes, and even widgets. Interactive features such as surveys and text boxes can be added to your Instapage Builder account to capture user data while keeping them interested. You can also use fonts, colors, and other design elements to further enhance the look of your page. Instapage Customer Success Manager
Instapage terminology refers to a group of elements that are grouped together as a block. A block can be modified with a few adjustments and elements. You can also copy, duplicate, or even delete it if you wish. And that’s just for creating a full block – if you don’t have ample time to deal with it or are not confident enough with your page-building skills, you can always look at the Instapage Builder’s selection of block templates, each ready-to-use.
Every time you build a landing page, you’ll notice that the preview appears designed for desktop use. If you want to create a mobile-friendly version of your page here in Instapage, you won’t have to worry about starting again from scratch. Every template is optimized for mobile use. Just like with editing the desktop version, you can conceal certain elements or even whole blocks from those who will go to your landing page using their smartphones.
With this life-saving feature, you won’t need to go too far to the point where you’ll have two completely different page versions. Overall, by customizing your landing page this way, you can create an attractive and effective platform for marketing your products or services.
Publishing Your Landing Page
This is the most important part. Now you need to publish your page to make it available to your audience. Publishing a landing page is an important step in the process of creating success in whatever you’re promoting, whether it’s a product or a service. This will make sure that your landing page is visible to as many people as possible, and increase traffic to your website. Instapage Customer Success Manager
Are you satisfied with the layout and design? Instapage can be integrated with any of these options:
- You will need to connect your custom domain to your Instapage account before it can be published to your domain. This process is quite complicated, but Instapage will guide you with instructions.
- WordPress – you can publish your page in an instant thanks to its native WordPress integration
- Drupal – if you work for a large-scale company that has Drupal, you can publish your Instapage-made page instantly when you connect it using the Drupal plug-in.
- Facebook – This option is helpful if most of your visitors will find your page via Facebook, and you wish to improve the user experience.
- Demo page – This is an easy way to publish your landing page without a domain. Instead, Instapage will provide a subdomain.
Additionally, you may opt to download your page for you to edit and modify for future use and even export it to your co-workers or collaborators. You can save your page progress and come back anytime if you aren’t ready to publish it.
Instapage’s Other Notable Features
Instablocks & Global Blocks
While you can add certain elements to create a block within a page, you get the added benefit of being able to save and reuse it whenever you want to create another page. To further cut the time spent on building landing pages in half, you can save the blocks you made yourself as Instablocks, which you can implement when you create other pages in future projects. To do this, simply right-click on the block you want to use again, then click “Save to My Blocks.” Instapage Customer Success Manager
Meanwhile, Global Blocks work similarly to Instablocks – the only difference between the two is that the design and layout of the former are specific to one page. The Global Blocks look consistent across all pages. If you make changes to a Global Block on a page, they will reflect on any other blocks. This feature can be useful if you have a section of your website, such as a header or footer, that you want to be consistent across multiple pages. However, you can always disable it if you prefer.
Split Testing to Optimize Your Landing Page
A/B/n testing is a great way to optimize your page. Before you’re ready to publish, you need to ensure that whatever you’re making should attract the general public. The optimization experiments feature in the Instapage Builder allows you to easily identify which elements or blocks should remain as they are, since many people are drawn to them, and which parts must be modified.
Instapage allows you to split-test multiple versions of a landing page by clicking on the “Traffic Split” button in the Builder, which enables you to compare different variations of the same page and analyze which performs better. You can create multiple pages and choose the percentage of traffic that will be sent to each version. Instapage will then show you detailed analytics to help you determine which version is performing best. You can use the winning page as your final landing page layout or continue testing it with different variants to optimize it, ensuring that your page delivers the best possible visitor experience and improves conversion rates. Real-Time Collaboration Tools
Instapage’s many benefits include the ability to collaborate with others and create an immersive experience. If you work in a group or team, you’ll be able to do exactly that with the platform’s real-time collaboration features. As you turn on Comment mode, you and your teammates can leave comments on different parts of the page by simply clicking on any of the elements or blocks. This feature is helpful if you have any suggestions or requests for changes to the layout and design.
Instapage also allows you to share your page with your team members, even if it is still in progress. This URL can be copied and shared in the group chat. You can invite them all with their email addresses. Your page can be accessed by other Instapage users. Those who don’t have an account can still view what you are working on.
Increased Conversions with Instapage AdMap
The AdMap tool is a great way to make sure your landing page for your product/service gets sent to the right people. The AdMap tool is designed to increase conversions and maximize return on investment. It allows you to create and track ads across multiple platforms, including Google search results.
AdMap allows you to customize your ads based on your audience’s interests and behaviors. It can be used to optimize the customer’s journey by identifying and removing the pain points and roadblocks to conversion. It also allows users to view how changes to ads or pages affect the performance of their campaigns. With its easy-to-use interface and detailed analytics reports, Instapage AdMap is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to increase their ROI and conversion rate. To access the feature, you will need a Google Ads account. Instapage Customer Success Manager
Integration with Google Ads
Speaking of Google Ads, if you happen to use it frequently for digital marketing and business purposes, you can easily connect your landing page with your Google Ads account to maximize your reach to a much wider audience. With only a few clicks away, you can review and keep track of your campaign’s progress, how much you’ve spent, and even how well-received your pages are for countless online users worldwide – all while you’re in your Instapage dashboard.
Heatmap Analytics Tool
As a means to better understand customer behavior on your page, Instapage’s native heatmap analytics feature lets you take an in-depth, real-time look at how your users interact with certain parts of your landing page, offering valuable insights into how customers use a website. This tool allows businesses to identify hotspots in their websites, such as pages visited the most or buttons clicked most frequently.
Heatmaps also help to highlight any usability issues customers may be experiencing, allowing businesses to make changes quickly and effectively. This is useful for tracking visitor journeys across multiple pages or devices. It provides valuable information about customers’ interactions with websites and content, which can help businesses grow and succeed. Instapage Customer Success Manager
Analytics in Instapage
Instapage shines best as both a landing page creator and a lead generation tool, so it’s for this reason that its analytics section perfectly reflects it. As one of the platform’s top-selling assets, real-time analytics gives you a full scope of how well your page is performing online, thanks to its detailed visuals and accurate numbers. It allows you to track and analyze the performance of their landing pages. This feature gives detailed information about metrics like page views, unique visitors and bounce rates. This information can then be used to optimize and improve the quality of landing pages and, in return, the overall standing of a business.
Included in the lineup of analytics tools that Instapage offers is the Conversion Goals tool built within the page builder, which allows you to set specific goals for your page to track. You can also integrate with third party analytics platforms to gain insight into user behavior and boost optimization of your page. This includes Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and many others. Instapage Analytics helps users understand how their landing pages perform and make data-driven decisions about how to improve them.
Instapage Pricing: How Much Does It Cost?
Instapage’s extensive and robust array of advanced features and tools makes it stand out from other landing page software. Previously, the cost of its services started at $68, but today, it’s priced at as low as $199 every month. The pricing may be a lot to take in, especially for smaller businesses with limited budgets. Still, it’s worth noting that Instapage provides much more than any landing page editor can, including WordPress.
Below is a complete list of all the Instapage plans currently available: Instapage Customer Success Manager
