The first step that you’ll need to take is to sign up and create your account. Just like every other landing page builder, you won’t fully get the Instapage experience until you register your account. As soon as you log in, you’ll first notice your dashboard, where you’ll find a full overview of how much progress you’ll be making. Since this is your first time, you won’t be able to see a lot on your dashboard. It’s okay, you’ll learn how to create your own landing page. Let’s get started!
From scratch, you can build a landing page
Click on “Landing pages” in the left-side menu of your dashboard and then click “Create Page”. Once you hit the button, you’ll instantly be greeted by a vast collection of around 200 landing page templates, each of which you can use and customize however you like for whatever you want to promote.
You’ll also be given the option to start with a blank page without any template or design (Blank Page), but that’s up to you if you think you have experience in building websites. However, since many of you are reading this and will use it for the first time, we’ll construct a full landing page using existing page templates for the sake of this tutorial.
You have many options to choose from depending on the purpose of your campaign. Select the Use case filter to see a list of available templates. There are many templates that you can choose from. One template is designed to encourage users to download your app (App Download), another one to sign people up for an event (Event registration) or one to thank them for buying your product/service. Instapage has a template for every use case.
Now, let’s say we’re building a landing page to launch a product. What should you do? You can start by selecting “Product Launch” from the filter. Next, choose one of the themes that will appear in the search results. As you pick the landing page design that you think looks good for what you’re aiming to promote, you’ll be welcomed by a quick page preview. This preview will give you an idea of the final product when it is made available to the public.
Then, it’s up to you whether you’re going to use it or not. If, for some reason, you don’t vibe with the layout, and you can always go back and skim through until you find the perfect fit. Otherwise, if you like it, then you can click “Use this layout.” Once you’ve chosen your landing page design, you’ll need to come up with a name as a way to keep things in order.

Now that you have your page layout, it is time to personalize it to your liking. Instead, how it works can simply be compared to that of the Photoshop interface – you won’t ever see the elements you’re dragging get locked all of a sudden, so indeed, you have the freedom to move your mouse and drag-and-drop however you like.
Although drag-and-drop may seem more Photoshop-like than the rest of Builder’s interface, it should still feel familiar to anyone who has used the WordPress editor before. There are many elements, widgets and forms available to you. Once you click on one of them, you can make any changes you want to your landing page.

Just like with editing the desktop version, you can conceal certain elements or even whole blocks from those who will go to your landing page using their smartphones.

Instablocks & Global Blocks
While you can add certain elements to create a block within a page, you get the added benefit of being able to save and reuse it whenever you want to create another page. To further cut the time spent on building landing pages in half, you can save the blocks you made yourself as Instablocks, which you can implement when you create other pages in future projects. Global Blocks, on the other hand, work in the same way as Instablocks. The only difference is that they are specific to one page. The Global Blocks look consistent across all pages. This means if you edit a Global Block on one page, all the changes will be reflected on the same block built into other pages.
