The first step that you’ll need to take is to sign up and create your account. You won’t be able to fully experience Instapage until you sign up. Once you log in, your dashboard will appear. This is where you can see a complete overview of the progress you are making. Since this is your first time, you won’t be able to see a lot on your dashboard. It’s okay, you’ll learn how to create your own landing page. Let’s get started!
From scratch, you can build a landing page
To create a landing page, simply click on “Landing Pages” on the left-side menu from your dashboard, then “Create Page.” You’ll be presented with a wide selection of landing page templates that you can customize for your promotion.
You’ll also be given the option to start with a blank page without any template or design (Blank Page), but that’s up to you if you think you have experience in building websites. However, since many of you are reading this and will use it for the first time, we’ll construct a full landing page using existing page templates for the sake of this tutorial.
You have many options to choose from depending on the purpose of your campaign. Select the Use case filter to see a list of available templates. You may find a template that’s designed to convince users to download your app (App download), one geared toward signing people up for an upcoming event (Event registration), or one that’s made to simply thank them for purchasing your product/service (Thank you). Instapage has a template for every use case.
Let’s suppose we are creating a landing page for launching a product. What are you going to do in this situation? To start, you can pick “Product launch” from the use case filter, then select one of the multiple themes that will come up in the search results. As you pick the landing page design that you think looks good for what you’re aiming to promote, you’ll be welcomed by a quick page preview. This is to give you a taste of your end product once it’s published to the public online.
Then, it’s up to you whether you’re going to use it or not. You can always go back to the beginning and look at the layout until you find it perfect. While the ability to drag and drop may feel more Photoshop-like, the rest of the Builder’s interface should be in some ways familiar, especially to those who’ve used the WordPress editor in the past. You’ll find a full set of elements, widgets, and forms within your reach, and once you click on any of them, you can add as many tweaks as possible to make your landing page more presentable.

You’ll notice the preview for a landing page you create is designed for desktop. If you want to create a mobile-friendly version of your page here in Instapage, you won’t have to worry about starting again from scratch. That’s because every single one of its templates is automatically optimized for mobile use. Just like with editing the desktop version, you can conceal certain elements or even whole blocks from those who will go to your landing page using their smartphones.

Instapage’s Other Important Features
Instablocks and Global Blocks
While you can add certain elements to create a block within a page, you get the added benefit of being able to save and reuse it whenever you want to create another page. To further cut the time spent on building landing pages in half, you can save the blocks you made yourself as Instablocks, which you can implement when you create other pages in future projects. Global Blocks, on the other hand, work in the same way as Instablocks. The only difference is that they are specific to one page. The Global Blocks look consistent across all pages. This means if you edit a Global Block on one page, all the changes will be reflected on the same block built into other pages. This can be very useful if you have a section on your website that you wish to be consistent across pages, such as a header, footer or footer. You can disable this feature if you wish.
