Click on “Landing pages” in the left-side menu of your dashboard and then click “Create Page”. You’ll be presented with a wide selection of landing page templates that you can customize for your promotion.
If you are an experienced web designer, you will be able to create a blank page. However, since many of you are reading this and will use it for the first time, we’ll construct a full landing page using existing page templates for the sake of this tutorial.
There are a lot of template options that you can choose from based on your planned campaign by selecting the use case filter. You may find a template that’s designed to convince users to download your app (App download), one geared toward signing people up for an upcoming event (Event registration), or one that’s made to simply thank them for purchasing your product/service (Thank you). Instapage has a template for every use case.
Let’s suppose we are creating a landing page for launching a product. What should you do? You can start by selecting “Product Launch” from the filter. Next, choose one of the themes that will appear in the search results. As you pick the landing page design that you think looks good for what you’re aiming to promote, you’ll be welcomed by a quick page preview. This is to give you a taste of your end product once it’s published to the public online.
Then, it’s up to you whether you’re going to use it or not. You can always go back to the beginning and look at the layout until you find it perfect. Otherwise, if you like it, then you can click “Use this layout.” Once you’ve chosen your landing page design, you’ll need to come up with a name as a way to keep things in order.

With your chosen page layout now ready to go, the next step is to customize it according to your liking. It works in a similar way to the Photoshop interface. You won’t see any elements you drag get locked, so you can move your mouse around and drag-and drop as you please.
While the ability to drag and drop may feel more Photoshop-like, the rest of the Builder’s interface should be in some ways familiar, especially to those who’ve used the WordPress editor in the past. There are many elements, widgets and forms available to you. Once you click on one of them, you can make any changes you want to your landing page.
Adding Elements and Making Adjustments
You can add and rearrange visual elements to your Instapage Builder experience. That’s because every single one of its templates is automatically optimized for mobile use. You can hide certain elements, or entire blocks, just like you could with the desktop version. While you can add certain elements to create a block within a page, you get the added benefit of being able to save and reuse it whenever you want to create another page. You can also save your own blocks as Instablocks to cut down on the time it takes to build landing pages. These blocks can be used in future pages. Meanwhile, Global Blocks work similarly to Instablocks – the only difference between the two is that the design and layout of the former are specific to one page.
